MG 1/100 Gouf Ver. 2.0 — Ramba Ral's Blue Beast Unleashed
Ramba Ral's famous blue Gouf gets its best-ever treatment in the Ver. 2.0 MG. The flexible heat rod, the finger Vulcan gun hand, and the dark navy-blue armor combine into one of the most characterful Zeon kits in the MG lineup.
MG Gouf Ver.2.0: Ramba Ral's Blue Beast
The MG Gouf Ver.2.0 (2008) is the modernized Master Grade Gouf — Ramba Ral's signature mass-production MS from the original Gundam series. The Gouf is the Zaku's successor in the Zeon line, with melee specialization and the iconic Heat Rod whip weapon.
For UC fans, the Gouf Ver.2.0 sits in the One Year War Zeon trio (Zaku II Ver.2.0, Gouf Ver.2.0, Dom or Gelgoog) as a must-have for completing a Zeon ground forces shelf.
The Heat Rod
The Gouf's signature weapon is the Heat Rod — a long whip-like beam weapon mounted in the right wrist. The MG kit includes the Heat Rod as a flexible articulated cable that can extend from a coiled storage position to a fully deployed strike pose.
The cable is segmented internally, allowing natural curves. For combat-pose display, you can pose the Heat Rod mid-strike with realistic curves.
The Heat Sword & 5-Barrel Machine Gun
Plus the standard Gouf weapons: the Heat Sword (an extended beam saber) and the iconic 5-barrel machine gun mounted on the left forearm. Both are included with full articulation.
The Color Scheme
Deep blue with light blue accent panels, gunmetal frame. The blue is rich and slightly metallic, distinguishing the Gouf from the Zaku's green coloring.
The color scheme reads as 'commander's machine' — deeper, more ornamental than typical mass-production colors.
The Inner Frame
Ver.2.0 era frame, shared architecture with Char's Zaku II Ver.2.0 and Char's Gelgoog Ver.2.0. Strong articulation, reliable joints.
Build Difficulty
About 8-10 hours for a careful first build. The Heat Rod assembly is the most fiddly section — handle the cable carefully to maintain its flexibility.
Display Recommendation
The Gouf's combat pose vocabulary emphasizes Heat Rod strikes and intimidating stances. Display with Heat Rod extended, slight crouch, machine gun aimed. The figure reads as 'predator' rather than 'soldier.'
