MG 1/100 Freedom Gundam Ver. 2.0 — SEED's Best MG Reborn

The MG Freedom Ver. 2.0 is a complete ground-up rebuild that addresses every weakness of the original MG Freedom. The new inner frame is rock solid, the wings have improved articulation, and the overall proportions are more anime-accurate than ever before.

MG Freedom Ver.2.0: SEED's Modern Reset

The MG Freedom Ver.2.0 (2014) is the modernized Master Grade Freedom — Kira Yamato's mobile suit from Gundam SEED. The Ver.2.0 designation indicates a complete redesign over the older Ver.1.0, with refined proportions and modern joint engineering.

For SEED fans, the Ver.2.0 is the recommended Freedom MG. The original Ver.1.0 (2003) is dated by comparison; the Ver.2.0 transforms cleaner and looks better in display.

The Wing Engineering

Two large wings mount on the back with multi-pivot articulation. Each wing has internal articulation points allowing deployed (combat) and stowed (rest) configurations.

The wings are heavier than typical MG wings; the pivot system uses ratcheted detents to hold them stable at extreme deploy angles.

The Beam Rifle, Saber, Railguns

Two beam rifles (combinable into a long-barrel rifle), two beam saber hilts (combinable into a dual-blade), two railgun rifles (mounted on hip rails), and the beam shield projector. Standard Freedom loadout.

The 'Wings of Light' Effect

Optional clear-plastic effect parts simulate the deployed 'Wings of Light' from the show. They mount on the standard wing hardpoints when deployed; can be removed for stowed display.

Color Scheme

White, blue, gold trim, red accents, deep blue inner frame. Standard Freedom palette refined for the Ver.2.0 era. The white is slightly cooler; the blue is deeper.

The Inner Frame

2014-era MG frame with refined engineering. Hip joints, double-hinge knees, swivel waist, ball-jointed shoulders. Strong articulation throughout.

The Build

10-12 hours for a careful first build. The wing assembly is the most time-consuming section.

The Strike Freedom Comparison

Many builders own both the Freedom Ver.2 and the Strike Freedom Full Burst. They display together as 'pre-evolution' and 'post-evolution' Freedom variants — Kira's mobile suit through both seasons of SEED.
