MG 1/100 Banshee Ver. Ka — The Dark Twin of Unicorn

The MG Banshee Ver. Ka is the Unicorn's perfect dark mirror — black armor with gold psychoframe that glows amber in destroy mode. The Armed Armor DE and BS add aggressive visual bulk that the Unicorn lacks, and the overall display impact is extraordinary.

MG Banshee Ver.Ka: Unicorn's Dark Twin

The MG Banshee Gundam Ver.Ka (2014) is the Master Grade Banshee — the black-and-yellow counterpart to the white-and-blue Unicorn. Both are part of the RX-0 series, both transform between Unicorn Mode and Destroy Mode, and both are iconic UC mobile suits.

For collectors who own the MG Unicorn Ver.Ka and want the complete RX-0 pair, this is the natural acquisition.

The Color Scheme

Black body with yellow accent trim and a darker tone of psychoframe pink (slightly more red than the Unicorn's pink). The contrast between black and yellow is striking — the Banshee reads as more aggressive than the Unicorn.

The black plastic is a deep matte black, not glossy. The yellow trim is properly molded.

The Armed Armor

The Banshee Ver.Ka has the optional Armed Armor configuration — additional weapon-armor combinations on the limbs. Includes Armed Armor BS (beam shield projector on the wrist) and Armed Armor DE (heavy armor and beam cannon on the right shoulder).

The Armed Armor sections are removable for simplified display.

The Transformation

Same engineering as the standard Unicorn Ver.Ka. Unicorn Mode → Destroy Mode requires manual armor extension across the figure. Reversible without damage.

The Beam Magnum

The Banshee uses a standard Beam Magnum (same as the Unicorn). Two beam saber hilts on the rack for hand combat. No Hyper Bazooka in the standard kit.

The Build

10-12 hours for the standard configuration. With Armed Armor, add 3-5 hours. The Armed Armor pieces are self-contained subassemblies.

The Banshee Norn Variant

The 'Banshee Norn' is a separate kit (different mold) representing the Banshee in its later, fully-armored configuration with all weapons mounted permanently. The Norn is the more complex, more imposing variant.

For most collectors, the standard Banshee Ver.Ka is the right starting point. The Norn is a dedicated upgrade for serious Banshee fans.
