MG 1/100 Altron Gundam EW — Wufei's Twin Dragon Finally Done

MG Altron Gundam EW: Wufei's Twin Dragon

The MG Altron Gundam EW (2010) is the Master Grade Altron in its Endless Waltz movie redesign — Chang Wufei's mobile suit. The Altron's signature feature is the dual extending Dragon Fang weapons mounted on the arms — a unique design among Wing Gundams.

For Wing fans, the Altron EW completes the five-pilot trio (Wing Zero, Sandrock, Heavyarms, Deathscythe, Altron). The MG version is the apex 1/100 representation.

The Dragon Fangs

The Altron's signature weapons are the two Dragon Fang arms — extendable claw-like beam weapons that telescope outward from the forearms. The MG kit captures this gimmick through a multi-segment extending arm assembly.

The Dragon Fangs can be displayed retracted (close to body), partial extended, or fully extended (dramatic strike pose). The mechanism uses friction joints — set the position, and they hold.

The Beam Glaive

Plus the standard Altron weapons: the Beam Glaive (long staff weapon), beam saber alternates, and a small twin-barrel cannon mounted on the back. Comprehensive loadout.

The Color Scheme

Green body with red and gold accent trim. The green is a vibrant emerald rather than typical Wing palette. The contrasting red of the Dragon Fangs creates visual hierarchy.

The aesthetic reads as 'martial arts master' — fitting for Wufei's character in the show.

The Inner Frame

2010-era MG frame. The Dragon Fang mechanism requires reinforced shoulder mounts; the kit handles this well.

10-13 hours for a careful first build. The Dragon Fang assemblies are the most time-consuming sections.

Display Recommendations

The Altron looks best with Dragon Fangs partially extended in mid-strike configuration, beam glaive held forward, dynamic crouched stance. The figure has martial-arts dynamism rather than typical Wing 'hero pose' aesthetic.
