HGUC 1/144 Qubeley — Haman Karn's Elegant Funnel Machine
The Qubeley is a design unlike anything else in Gundam. Feminine curves, massive funnel binders, and a pale pink-white color scheme that stands out on any shelf. The HGUC kit faithfully captures all of this at an affordable price point.
HGUC Qubeley: Haman Karn's Symbol
The Qubeley is Haman Karn's signature mobile suit from Z Gundam and ZZ Gundam — a feminine-aesthetic design with deployable funnel weapons and elegant white-and-purple color scheme. The HGUC Qubeley (2010) brings this distinctive design to 1/144 scale.
For Z Gundam fans, the Qubeley is one of the show's most memorable mobile suits and a must-have for a complete Z-era HGUC collection.
The Funnel System
The Qubeley deploys via Funnel Bits — small remote weapons that detach from the body and operate independently. The HGUC kit includes 12 funnels mounted on the side skirts. They detach for deployment-pose display.
The funnels don't have individual flight stands (the kit assumes static deployed display rather than mid-flight poses). For mid-flight display, builders typically use clear support rods.
The Color Scheme
White body with purple accent panels and gold/yellow trim. The white plastic is the brightest shade of any HGUC kit — almost paper-white. The purple is vibrant and slightly metallic.
The color contrast (white with purple) is striking on display. Few other UC kits use this palette.
The Beam Saber & Shield
Two beam saber hilts (with blades) and the iconic Qubeley shield (the 'parasol' shaped shield mounted on the wrist). No beam rifle (the Qubeley is a melee-focused MS in the show).
The shield is a distinctive design element — circular, slightly umbrella-like, with internal detail visible from below.
Articulation
Standard 2010-era HGUC articulation. The Qubeley's design is poseable enough for the show's combat sequences (graceful, sweeping motions rather than aggressive thrusts). Hip joints, knee bends, shoulder rotation all work cleanly.
Display Considerations
The Qubeley with funnels deployed creates an iconic 'umbrella of weapons' silhouette. Display under directional lighting to emphasize the white body. The purple accents catch warm light beautifully.
For Z-era collectors, this kit pairs with the HGUC Hyaku Shiki and HGUC Z Gundam to create a complete 'Z Project pilot trio' display.
