HG 1/144 00 Gundam — Double GN Drive Perfection

The 00 Gundam's twin GN Drives are the defining feature of the design and the HG kit renders both in translucent teal that genuinely glows. Clean proportions, solid joints, and the full 00-era aesthetic at an affordable price.

HG 00 Gundam: The Twin GN Drive Powerhouse

The 00 Gundam is the second-generation Gundam in Gundam 00 — Setsuna's upgraded mobile suit with twin GN Drives, double the power output, and the Trans-Am System enabled. The HG 00 Gundam captures this dual-drive design at 1/144 scale.

For 00 fans, the 00 Gundam represents the show's mid-arc protagonist and is essential for completing a 00 collection alongside the Exia.

The Twin GN Drive Aesthetic

Two GN Drives mounted on the shoulders rather than one on the back. The drives glow green (clear plastic with internal detail). Effect parts simulate the dual-drive particle output.

Visually, this is one of the most distinctive Gundam designs — the shoulder-mounted glowing drives create an immediately recognizable silhouette.

The Color Scheme

White, blue, red, with green GN Drive glow. The 00 uses slightly cooler whites and more aggressive blue accents than the Exia. The contrast between the white body and green GN particle effects is striking.

The 0 Raiser Connection

The 00 Gundam pairs with the 0 Raiser support craft (sold separately as a separate HG kit). Combined into 00 Raiser, the figure becomes the show's apex configuration. For full 00 fan completion, both kits are needed.

Articulation

2009-era HG articulation. Strong overall, with particular attention to the shoulder mount points (need to support the GN Drive weight). The drives stay locked in position even with extensive arm movement.

Effects Parts

The kit includes clear-plastic effect parts simulating Trans-Am particle emission — wisps of green particles flowing from the body. Adds significant visual richness to action poses.

Display Recommendation

The 00 Gundam looks best in mid-action with effects parts deployed. Static stance underutilizes the GN Drive aesthetic. Get an action base, deploy effects, and pose with weapons mid-strike.
