MG 1/100 Nu Gundam Ver. Ka — Amuro's Final Form at 1/100

The MG Nu Gundam Ver. Ka is in the conversation for greatest Master Grade ever made. Six enormous fin funnels that each outsize a standard HGUC kit, a beautifully refined inner frame, and that iconic white and steel color scheme at 1/100 scale.

MG Nu Gundam Ver.Ka: Amuro's Final Form at 1/100

The MG Nu Gundam Ver.Ka (2014) is Hajime Katoki's signature Master Grade Nu — the apex 1/100 representation of Amuro Ray's final mobile suit. The Ver.Ka refines the Nu's proportions, sharpens the panel details, and adds engineering that supports the kit's signature fin funnel display.

For UC fans, the Nu Ver.Ka is essential. The standard MG Nu (released earlier) is good but the Ver.Ka surpasses it in every dimension.

The Fin Funnel System

Six fin funnels mount on the rear backpack with multi-axis articulation per funnel. The MG kit's funnels can be displayed in deployed flight configuration with the iconic 'fin funnel barrier' arrangement.

Effect parts simulate the funnels in motion. Combined with an action base, the figure can be displayed mid-flight with full deployed funnels.

The Beam Rifle, Saber, Bazooka

Standard Nu loadout: beam rifle (with extending stock), beam saber dual-handle (two blades), and the iconic chest-mounted shield. The Hyper Bazooka is included as a separate large weapon for combat-pose display.

Color Scheme

Crisp white, rich blue, gold V-fin, yellow chest crystal. The Ver.Ka uses slightly cooler whites than the standard MG Nu. The proportions emphasize the Nu's heroic silhouette without exaggeration.

The Inner Frame

2014-era MG frame with Katoki refinements. Hip joints, double-hinge knees, swivel waist, ball-jointed shoulders. The frame supports the kit's heavy-weapons load (Bazooka, all funnels) without strain.

The Build

10-12 hours for a careful first build. The fin funnel assembly is time-consuming due to the 6 individual mounts. The body itself builds quickly.

Display Recommendation

The MG Nu Ver.Ka is a flagship display kit. Pose with funnels deployed in 'barrier' configuration, beam rifle aimed forward, slightly crouched stance. The figure dominates any shelf section it occupies.

For maximum effect, light from above and slightly to the side. The white plastic and gold V-fin catch directional lighting beautifully.

✔ Pros

  • +Six enormous fin funnels
  • +Katoki perfected proportions
  • +Outstanding inner frame
  • +Iconic UC design

✖ Cons

  • Funnels very heavy
  • Needs strong display stand
  • Expensive
  • Very large shelf footprint
