EG 1/144 Full Armor Gundam — Best EG Value Pack

The EG Full Armor Gundam packs an enormous accessory count into the Entry Grade format — missile pods, extra shield layers, hyper bazooka and beam rifle all included at under 1000 yen. Outstanding value.

EG Full Armor Gundam: Beginner-Friendly UC

Entry Grade Full Armor Unicorn (2022) is Bandai's accessible introduction to the Full Armor variant of the RX-78. The Full Armor configuration is the heavily-armored version with shoulder cannons, reinforced chest plate, and the iconic missile pods on the legs.

This kit translates that complexity into Entry Grade simplicity — fewer parts than the HG, no painting required, and a build experience suitable for children or first-time builders.

The Full Armor Translation

The kit captures the Full Armor's visual signature: heavy chest plating, shoulder cannons (non-articulated, fixed), missile pod arrays on the legs (decorative, non-launching), and the comprehensive trim pattern.

Compared to an HG Full Armor, the EG version simplifies: no separated shoulder armor articulation, missile pods are molded as fixed pieces, no individual cannon barrel articulation.

What Translates Well at EG Scale

The proportions are clean. The bulky armored silhouette is captured. The color scheme (red, white, blue, gray) is properly molded without stickers. The face is excellent — proper V-fin, printed eyes.

For ¥1,100 retail, this is impressive value.

What Got Simplified

Full Armor articulation. The HG version has independently articulated shoulder cannons; the EG version has them fixed. The leg missile pods are decorative only. The chest plate doesn't open to reveal the standard RX-78 underneath.

For casual display, none of these matter. For builders who want the 'transformation' aspect of Full Armor, the HG is the right choice.

Build Time & Difficulty

Approximately 90-120 minutes for a careful first build. Suitable for ages 8+ with adult supervision for the smaller parts.

The EG Display Recommendation

The EG Full Armor pairs well with the EG RX-78-2 (standard) on the same shelf — the two display the original Gundam's combat configurations. Add the EG Strike Freedom for cross-era variety.
